Rec. Marijuana Sales Double in Washington State

SEATTLE, WA.  Sales of recreational cannabis in Washington state are now growing at an even faster rate than in Colorado, according to the latest data from the Liquor Control Board. The April total of $24.8 million nearly doubled the $12.7 million recorded for January 2015.

Governor Jay Inslee signed a bill in April aimed at streamlining the state’s medical marijuana sector by bringing it under the same regulatory controls as recreational cannabis. Under the new law, recreational cannabis stores will be eligible for an endorsement so that they can provide medical marijuana to card-holding patients.
