CanopyBoulder Startup Boot Camp Fall 2015

BOULDER, CO. 15 May, 2015 – Attention cannabis startups! Applications close 1 June for business accelerator CanopyBoulder’s Fall 2015 boot camp in Boulder, CO. The class kicks off on 1 September, and lasts for three months.

In partnership with the ArcView Group, CanopyBoulder is a seed-stage investment program for startups in the cannabis industry, with a focus on ancillary products and services in technology, software, safety, media and other sectors. Launched in December 2014, the company raised $1.2 million from angel investors to get its program underway.

Companies chosen for the Boulder boot camp will receive $20,000 in seed funding and mentoring from ArcView’s network of advisers in return for a 9.5 percent equity interest in each company. Mentors will help companies define business models, work on effective marketing and fundraising, and will introduce companies to the industry.

There are 10 available spots for each boot camp. Over 150 businesses applied for the March session which is due to wind up in June, with the startups presenting to the ArcView Investor Network, Rockies Venture Club and a Demo Day June 29 at the National Cannabis Industry Association’s Cannabis Business Summit in Denver.

The Spring 2015 class roster includes:

Adistry (Longmont, CO) – an online advertising network for cannabis-related products and services.

Highest Reward (Superior, CO)  – human resources solutions for the cannabis industry.

Stashlogix (Boulder, CO) – safe, secure stash bags for cannabis consumers.

Cannagrow (Israel) – smartphone-controlled desktop growing system for individuals.

ColoradoPotGuide.com (Denver) – online guide to cannabis in Colorado and beyond.

Glasshous (Los Angeles) high-end e-commerce head shop appealing to discerning consumers.

Healthy Headie Lifestyle (Boston) – direct-to-consumer sales distributorship for cannabis-related ancillary consumer products.

MRRB (Providence, R.I.) – retail sales and consumer trends data and analysis.

Shivanysa (Lake Tahoe, CA) – a brand for women interested in the cannabis industry.

Tradiv (San Diego, Calif.) – a technology platform for the B to B ecosystem.
